According to Amnesty International: "He was among the remaining 20, who were detained at the barracks until 25 January when they were transferred to Ohafia Barracks, Abia State. After 13 days, he and three others were transferred to the Abia State Criminal Investigation Department (CID) detention, where they were held for an additional three days until they were handed over to Zone 9 Police Headquarters in Umuahia. There they joined a group of 16 people arrested at a different incident on 9 February [...]. They were charged with treason on 10 February.
