Description

According to Amnesty International: "The army also detained at least 57 people in their barracks on 18 January. Christopher Eze (not his real name), a 26-year-old trader, told Amnesty International that soldiers arrested him without any reason around 11am at Ngwa Road. According to him, all passers-by raised their hands in the air, but the soldiers picked him and took him to the barracks at the former Ngwa High School. He said: “They picked up a few more people on our way, by the time we got to Ngwa High School Barracks, there were 57 of us. They insisted we had to meet their commander before we were released. The next day, one of their commanders came and interviewed us individually. After the interview you were either asked to join group 1 or 2.” He said 37 people were released." [+]
